Northland DHB Health Needs Assessment 2018
Welcome to the NDHB health needs assessment website!
District Health Boards are required to identify the health needs of their population, and to regularly monitor health status and service use. The Northland Health Needs Assessment aims to use current data to better understand the health of Northlanders, and also to identify groups that have greater health needs. This information helps us to guide service development, plan for future health needs, and to inform funding decisions.
Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD)
The New Zealand Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) is a set of tools for identifying concentrations of deprivation in New Zealand. It is comprised of 28 indicators grouped into seven domains of deprivation: Employment, Income, Crime, Housing, Health, Education and Access to services. Please use the atlas map for Northland by clicking the link box. The map show the indices specific for Northland using the NZ IMD data.
IMD team: Dr Daniel John Exeter, Dr Jinfeng Zhao, Dr Sue Crengle, Dr Arier Chi Lun Lee and Michael Browne, with help and support from numerous individuals and organisations.
This HNA may look a little different to previous versions. We hope you enjoy the new web-based format. Future versions will include Census 2018 data, and information on long-term conditions. Please feel free to contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org with any feedback or questions.
